Will there be any implications to this It sounds like SATA drives will work on SAS ports just not the other way around. This isnt really that much storage and was wondering if I can use cheaper SATA drives, including SSDs. Surprisingly it's still serving it's function as it is only used regularly for dhcp and ssh. I recently required a Proliant D元80 G6 and it has 8 146GB 15K SAS drives. The server is currently on in a limited state, but definitely won't boot from drive C if restarted, as portions of /bin/ were lost.
